The Red Cross no longer serves beer after donating… but I enjoyed a Coke with a ‘Chicken, lettuce and Mayo’ sandwich whilst reading the newspaper. It’s around 45 minutes of your time knowing it’s going to help someone else.
World Blood Donor Day is celebrated on 14th June. It encourages people to give blood, save lives without asking for anything in return.
World Blood donor day is intended to raise the awareness of the need for safe blood.
Transfusion of blood, plasma and blood products helps save millions of lives every year. It helps patients who suffer from life-threatening conditions, to live longer and with a higher quality of life. It supports complex medical and surgical procedures.
It does not hurt, doesn’t take long and you know you will be doing good.
